How we match springs to latex choice and body weight

First choose the surface feel: soft latex for a plush feel or medium latex for a balanced, responsive feel. We then use your latex choice and body weight to select the support underneath.

Soft springs are available by request for children and people under 50kg, but they are too soft for most adults. Contact us for a quote. If you weigh more than 130kg, contact us so we can check the complete setup.

Soft latex is only available with the Cloud’s 2 micro spring layers.

Firm latex is also available by request, but it is far too firm for most applications and can cause pressure pain. Firm springs with medium latex usually provide a better balance of firm support and cushioning.

What happened to Levels 2–19?

We used to offer 18 firmness levels, from 2–19. We recently simplified the choice to make the fitting process easier to understand. You now choose the surface feel, and we match the springs underneath to your latex choice and body weight.

Each mattress includes felt and a flippable spring unit, so you can still make it firmer at home. If you need to go softer or firmer, contact us and we’ll help with the right adjustment or component.

Sleep position then helps choose the cushioning. Side sleepers usually prefer the Cloud with 2 micro spring layers. Back sleepers can choose the Cloud for more cushioning or the Aurora for a more direct surface. Stomach sleepers usually prefer the Aurora.

A standard Australian queen mattress measures 203cm in length by 153cm in width. Here's how the queen mattress size compares.

• Single mattress: 188cm length × 92cm width
• Double mattress: 188cm length × 138cm width
• Queen mattress: 203cm length × 153cm width
• King mattress: 203cm length × 183cm width

Moving from a double mattress to a queen gives you an extra 15cm in width and 15cm in length, enough extra space to noticeably reduce partner disturbance. A queen-size bed is the most popular mattress size in Australia, used by roughly 61% of households.

If you want extra wiggle room, a king bed adds 30cm of width. But for most couples, a queen bed mattress strikes the right balance between sleeping space and bedroom footprint.

We make two models. Both use honeycomb pocket springs, natural latex and a zippered cover. The difference is the number of micro spring layers used for cushioning.

Aurora (Queen $2,450): One micro spring layer, with 1,600 micro springs in a queen, for a firmer and more direct surface.

Cloud (Queen $2,950): Two layers, with 3,200 micro springs in a queen, for more cushioning and pressure relief.

Both models use GOLS-certified natural latex and just 5cm of foam on top. Less foam means cooler sleep, unlike a typical bed-in-a-box brand with 25–30cm of solid foam that traps heat. We don’t run sale events or inflate prices to offer fake discounts. The queen mattress price you see is what you pay, every day of the year. When you see other retailers advertising a “queen mattress sale” with 50% off, ask what the real price is. I can't count how many customers discover their discomfort is actually caused by their bed base, not their mattress. Flexible slats sag over time, creating sagging and back pain. Press your slats – if they bend easily, that's your problem.

We sell our Slimline Bed Base (queen $480) with solid pine slats and quality construction. Our mattresses also work on adjustable bed bases and most standard bed frame types. A solid base provides proper support underneath and extends the life of any new mattress.
