This is where we make your mattress. Walk through the factory, see the materials up close, and try all three models (Cooper, Aurora, and Cloud) in multiple firmness levels. Karl, Nicky, or Dani will answer your questions without any sales pressure. Take your time. Come back as many times as you need.

🛋️ Willoughby: The Staffless Showroom

No staff, no pressure. Just push the door and walk in. Test the Cloud mattress at your own pace, scan QR codes for pricing and info, and call (02) 8999 3333 if you have questions. Stay 10 minutes or 2 hours. It’s completely self-service.

I visited the Ausbeds Marrickville factory and showroom to find Karl, the owner, hands-on in the downstairs factory section. He is so passionate that a person will buy the most comfortable mattress for them, he has come up with interchangeable layers that effect the mattress's level of firmness. These can be easily changed by unzipping the mattress top. And Karl is always happy to help with tips on what changes to make. I tried numerous mattresses at different price points and levels of firmness and never felt rushed at all with Karl giving advice where needed. There are also different spring systems for different body weights. Ordering and delivery was no problem and the result… an extremely comfortable mattress that I'm proud to own!

Friendly, supportive and not pushy. Your own time and space

To be honest, I first decided to go to Ausbeds because I feel like Karl the owner is always on the front line to support customers. I also like their sales approach: friendly, supportive and not pushy. You have your own time/space to try all mattresses in store. As a petite female under 50kg, I originally thought an Aurora might be good enough. However, after I tried a few mattresses in store, I picked Aurora 9 as I noticed a better relief when I laid my back on the mattress. It has been more than 2 months and I have been very happy with my mattress since first night. It is good to know that I can just purchase a new top layer to restore the firmness when it gets softer a few years later instead of buying a new mattress.

I've never slept more soundly or comfortably

I was recovering from a hip injury and wanted a soft mattress while also feeling supported. I had been researching and felt completely confused by the pricing and what constituted a quality mattress. I had read good reviews about Ausbeds online, and I liked the idea of supporting a local business, so I went to have a look. A day of googling suggested our options were the big showroom places or a bed-in-a-box. But our search also threw up a Reddit link to Karl of Ausbeds. He had a showroom in Willoughby, unstaffed. You simply walked in off the street and there were about 8 mattresses of different firmness to try out. It was wonderful not to feel pressured and just to be able to do our own thing in our own time. The mattresses were delivered and we have been sleeping on ours for over a week. It's perfect. We have never had such a comfortable bed!

I really hate the big-box stores' bedding departments. Thankfully, I was left alone to lay on the different beds as long as I wanted. Karl and the team are invested in your comfort with their product. The Cloud 6 is the perfect blend between plush but with medium support. It is worth travelling across Sydney to test these beds. You will find more than you want, and there is zero risk if you buy, as they work with you to make it what you need.

Better than any 5-star hotel bed I've slept on

We have been having the best sleep we have had in years. Both of us don't have great backs and we have been waking up painless and well rested. I had almost forgotten what it was like to wake up and not still feel tired. Being able to go to the factory and try all the softness levels and types of mattresses really helped make the decision easy. We went around afterwards and tried out a full range of mattresses in many other stores and found that nothing at any price was comparable to what we found at Ausbeds.
