The Sienna mattress is discontinued

The Sienna mattress is no longer made. The closest current model is the Cooper. Same construction logic: honeycomb pocket springs, foam buffer layer, natural latex on top.
The Sienna mattress by Ausbeds is now the Aurora
The history

Why the change

The name is retired, but the mattress family is not.

The Sienna was in the range for many years. It changed significantly during that time.

Some versions had a latex comfort layer on top. Others had memory foam. Middle layers varied – high-density polyfoam in some, different foams in others. Most used honeycomb pocket springs (the same spring system we use today). Some Siennas were modular: zippered cover, individual layers that can be swapped out. Others were closed units – sealed, no internal access.

That's why we retired it. The current range (Cooper, Aurora, Cloud) is built so that each model has a consistent construction. One name, one build. No guessing.

Construction

The closest match

The latex version of the Sienna followed this structure: springs on the bottom, a foam buffer in the middle, and latex on top.

What's changed? While the Sienna had a great spring system, we have now made improvements to make it even better. We now use 986 pocket springs in a queen, arranged in a honeycomb pattern — 28% more than the industry standard 768.

The Cooper follows a similar structure to the Sienna: honeycomb pocket springs, purple high-density polyfoam buffer, and 5cm of natural latex on top. No micro spring layers. Direct, responsive feel – you sleep on the mattress, not in it.

If your Sienna has a zippable cover, then your mattress will be compatible with the rest of our modular lineup. While the closest match is the Cooper, you are able to add micro springs to make an Aurora or Cloud.

What you can do depends on which version you have.
Ausbeds Aurora mattress layers

Modular Sienna (zippered cover)

Your layers can be swapped individually. We still stock the components used across the current range: honeycomb pocket springs, microsprings, high-density polyfoam, and natural latex. Call us, and we'll figure out what fits. Worn-out layers can be upgraded.

Closed Sienna (sealed unit)

The layers can't be swapped. Sometimes the mattress has reached the end of its life, and replacement is the right call. Call us and describe what's happening – we'll give you an honest answer.

The best purchase you'll ever make

I purchased a mattress from Ausbeds two weeks ago and this was the best decision I've ever made! After having the worst experience ever with a new and very expensive mattress which had major potholes within 6 months from a major retailer I was hesitant about buying another mattress until I met Karl. He has such high knowledge and understanding of your needs. I ordered the Sienna that morning and by that afternoon my bed was delivered, custom made. I'm so glad that I did my research and came across Ausbeds! If you're looking for a mattress do not waste your time with the big retailers make your way down to Ausbeds and speak to Karl and his team. I guarantee it will be the best purchase you'll ever make

Absolutely love it!

We bought our Sienna 5 years ago and have loved sleeping on it. Any issues have been dealt with personally by Karl and he always takes the time to explain the technical details of his mattresses. Highly recommend supporting this Aussie business.

No fuss sales and delivery

I was looking for a mattress that does not use memory foam. The stuff stinks and feels like quicksand so after a bit of research I bought an Aurora 6 with its latex comfort layers. No fuss sales and delivery. Basic but fine warehouse and showroom. Clear options. Lush feel and a bit softer than I'm used to but no complaints so far. I can't really feel my weight while sleeping on the mattress.
