Australian Mattress Sizes Guide

Choosing a mattress size is simpler than most websites make it. It comes down to three things: who's sleeping in the bed, how big they are, and how much room you've got.

I've been making and delivering mattresses from our Marrickville factory for over 14 years, every size, to every type of Sydney home. Terraces with 70cm stairwells, apartments with tight lifts, master bedrooms that could fit two Kings. Here's what I've learned about each size.

Choose Your Size

Single (91 × 188 cm). Kids, teens, bunk beds, narrow rooms.
King Single (106 × 203 cm). Growing teens, solo adults who want legroom, guest rooms.
Double (137 × 188 cm). Solo sleepers who want space. Tight for two, just 68.5cm each.
Queen (153 × 203 cm). Australia's most popular size. Fits most couple bedrooms.
King (183 × 203 cm). Maximum space for couples. 30cm wider than a Queen.

Every Ausbeds mattress is 31cm tall, regardless of size. And because our mattresses are modular, you can split firmness down the middle on Queen and King, so couples don't have to compromise.

All Ausbeds mattresses are 31cm tall. Height does not change by size.
